Terroir

Italy, Colli Orientali del Friuli

In Italy we produce our wine in Buttrio, a subzone within Colli Orientali del Friuli, the Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC) located in the wine region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia.

Buttrio is probably the warmest wine producing area of the region and thanks its wellknown image to all the great wines that come from here.

The vineyard is located on the crest of the hill at approximately 200 meters above sea level, overlooking the village of Buttrio, and its soil consists to a large extent of sandstone. The particular chemical characteristics of the predominantly calcareous soil gives the wine great body with refined tanic structures. These are conditions for our powerful and elegant wine with great aging potential.

Terroir

Mendoza, Argentina

After several successful harvests in Mendoza, in 2007 we made the decision to produce our own wines due to our conviction that the terroir, conditions of the land, sun and microclimate are a great basis for wines of impecable quality. We have achieved a thourough understanding of the areas with best conditions and the necesary people to collaborate with, to produce excellent wines.

Our red wines, both Malbec variety, come from vineyards located in Agrelo, a subzone of Lujan de Cuyo, located approximately 1,000 – 1,100 meters above sea level. The top layer of the subzone consists of alluvial soils comprised mainly of clay with small percentages of silt, while becoming stony as depth increases. This type of soil enhances the structure of the wines, giving them more body, and most importantly, providing them great aging potential.

Our white wines, a Sauvignon Blanc and a white blend, come from Vista Flores, a subzone of Tunuyan and Tupungato, both located in Valle de Uco. The vineyards are located approximately 1,000 meters above sea level with soil that is erosive and that consists to a large extent of sand and a smaller percentage of clay and some stones. This soil type produces very aromatic wines of great impact and elegance on the palate, important characteristics of white wines of high quality.
